About Us

We use the latest Adobe CS3 Design Suite - on the PC,
and CS2 on the Mac
.

We will work with you and your PowerPoint and Publisher files with limitations.

We do not use CoralDraw.

If a specific colour is required, we will work with you to achieve this.

If the following is like a foreign language to you, even with the explanations, please bring in your concepts and we'll be happy to prepare you a proof ...

Print Ready -

Minium 300 dpi (Dots Per Inch)

High resolution megapixel cameras can produce beautiful print images.

  • 600 dpi on the digital press gives you optium results.
  • 300 dpi is the standard for full colour off-set printing

We like to have your raw (unaltered) photos if we are setting up the final layout.

Note: Low resolution photos can look great on the computer monitor, but print very poorly.
(Computer monitors display at 96dpi.)

Allow a 3mm bleed

PDFs are good, but please allow at least a 3mm bleed

  • A bleed extends beyond the edge of your page. We don't want to give you with tiny slivers of white on the edges - if the picture extends beyond it, then we can cut in the image or colour without trimming excessively
  • In Acrobat, you have the option of saving your pdf file with a crop marks and bleed - use those options.
Graphics and logos in vector format
  • A vector format uses "equations" instead of little square dots to form your image. It can be enlarged or reduced to any size without loss of resolution.
  • jpg files are not suitable for logos. Jpg format was designed for photos and blurs the colours together. Logos in jpg format are ALWAYS blurred.
  • Text in PhotoShop is converted to bitmaps - and is not crisp.
Include FONTS or, better, outline the fonts

We have a few thousand fonts at our disposal, but there are 100s of thousands of fonts. We don't have them all, and don't want them. BUT we'll need them for your print jobs.
